Bad Astronomy posting

Bad moon rising-   What I know- I know the moon is the same size on the hrizon as it is in the sky. I think the lunar landing was faked by our government. I'm pretty sure the moon phases are caused by Earth being in between the sun and the moon.

What I learned-   The moon landing was actually real and not set up it is all explained by the physics.
Lunar phases are actually caused by the angle of the moon and earth corresponding.

THE SKY AT NIGHT-    What I know- I'm pretty sure that stars are mostly white. There may be some that aernt but im not sure. Stars are huge orbs of burning gasses thats have a massive amount of gravitational energy.

What I leanred- Stars are all sorts of colors you just have to loook closely. You cannot see anything by starlight. The north star is not the brightest of stars actually.

A STEP FARTHER OUT- What I know- I know that there are an asortment of galaxies and nebula's far out there that we cannot reach as well as many things we have not discovered. We are discovering new planets and objects in space everyday.

What I learned- That Nas a actually didnt try to ignie jupiter into a small star. Depending on how far you dig into the earth affects the ammount of gravity affecting you. The suns gravity wouldnt change if it became a black hole.

NASA Post

1.
(Visible) M33 is a nearby galaxy that can be seen with a naked eye... Th crab nebula is a gaseous leftover supernova.
(XRay) Cygnus A is a blackholed centered galaxy
(Radio) Moon... Nearest planetary body to the Earth. Bright when seen in XRAY. Betelegeues Is a bright Red giant that you can observe with radio waves to determine its heat.
2.
Voyage to Andromeda and Cygnus X-1
Cygnus X-1 Its a black hole with a star orbiting it. You have to pass many planets and nebulas to get there.

Andromeda is our nearest galaxy and you have to pass a supernova to get there.

3 Upclose and personal
How many blackholes are there? Too many to count.

Does a blackhole defy gravity? No it abides by the laws of gravit.

Does a blackhole die? Yes it slowly evaporates.

First Post

I want to learn more about the climactic cycle of the Earth and how the weather affects life and other objects on Earth. I would also like to learn more about space and what holds it together and how the Earth is affected by space. ive always been interested in te balance of nature and learning more in depth about how humans affect that balance postive and negatively. The Earth is going through alot of changes and in my opinion it is important to understand those changes and this class could better me as a person due to the enviornmental knowledge im hoping to recieve. Neglegence towards these issues is only going to make things worse.
